SCA & MUFG Community Engagement Event - New York City

Join SCA and MUFG on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH to restore Morningside Park in Harlem!

Since the establishment of Global Volunteer Month in 2013, MUFG employees all over the world have been working together on initiatives to host local contribution activities. SCA is proud to be a partner in this endeavor by facilitating opportunities for MUFG employees, family, and friends to engage in team-based service projects in 8 different cities. The projects will focus on some of the most urgent conservation needs in underserved urban communities.

Morningside Park stretches along 13 blocks of Morningside Heights and Harlem, providing a critical community green space with steep hillsides, historic stones walls, playgrounds, ball fields, and a pond and waterfall. MUFG employees will join SCA volunteers in New York City to plant tree seedlings and flower bulbs to brighten this community green space.

WHEN: Saturday, November 4th, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Registration & breakfast beginning at 9:00 am, kickoff at 9:30. Work will conclude at 12:00 with lunch to follow.

WHERE: Morningside Park, Manhattan Ave & 112th Street, New York, NY 10026 (1/B/C trains to 110th St Cathedral Parkway)

WHAT: Volunteers will help to plant tree seedlings, remove brush and invasive species in preparation for a new garden site, and plant 1000 flower bulbs to brighten the park next spring. Projects will be appropriate for all ages and abilities.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants & closed-toe shoes.

PROVIDED: SCA will provide breakfast and lunch along with work gloves, safety gear, and all project materials. Reusable water bottles will be provided along with water stations.
